BA statement acknowledges imbalance at PBS - PL
Opposition spokesperson for Media and Social Dialogue, Gino Cauchi, said that if there needed to be a proof of how the state broadcasting is imbalanced against the Labour Party, this confirmation came about this week, when the Broadcasting Authority agreed with the party about an imbalance against it originating from the PBS newsroom under the leadership of Natalino Fenech.
The attitude employed by Dr Fenech in front of the Broadcasting Authority Board shows his imbalance against the Labour Party.
Other than that, he decided to appoint Dr Therese Comodini Cilia as his lawyer, and she has recently been confirmed as a Nationalist Party candidate for the upcoming general election.
This clearly shows how, now more than ever, vigilance and supervision are required by the Broadcasting Authority with regards to what is being broadcasted.
Now that the country is expecting a general election, the Labour Party will see that the impartial role of state broadcasting does not change to a partisan one, the statement concluded.
