Bad storms predicted for tonight and tomorrow
Malta is in for a fresh spate of bad weather, according to reports from Italian website Meteoweb.
The site said that the heavy rains that hit Northern and Central Italy a few days ago have moved south towards the Strait of Sicily and Malta.
“Rain is expected shortly after midnight. Torrential rain and thunderstorms will strike the next morning. Bad weather will last for most of the day tomorrow, and the maximum temperature is not expected to exceed 17° C – quite low compared to the summer-like weather the island has been experiencing so far this fall .”
Meteoweb warned the Maltese to stay indoors as much as possible by late this evening and for most of the day tomorrow, as rainfall of up to 100mm and over was expected, particularly in the low-lying areas most likely to be affected.
