Bendy buses hit the newsstands in the UK
Malta’s bendy buses are once again in the news in the UK, after having been decommissioned by the London Mayor after a series of fires and complaints about their length. The Evening Standard yesterday carried an article entitled: "How do you make a Maltese cross? Sell him our bendy buses".
Three fires in as many days earlier this week led to Malta’s Ministry for Transport and Transport Malta request public transport operator Arriva to withdraw the 68 bendy buses from service until the cause of the fires was established.
The Unscheduled Bus Service stepped in to service the routes previously operated by the bendy buses.
