Conference on Internet Freedom in Vienna
A conference on online freedom will be hosted by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), in Vienna, on February 14 and 15.
The two-day conference; “Internet2013: Shaping policies to advance media freedom”, will bring together some 250 key policymakers and experts from throughout the OSCE region to discuss the challenges to freedom of expression and media freedom online.
Panel discussions will be held on a wide range of subjects, ranging from freedom of expression and hate speech to the future of copyright online and liability for comments on news sites. Professor of Law at The George Washington University Law School Dawn Nunziato, and Dean of the International Journalism Faculty at Moscow State Institute of International Relations Yaroslav Skvortsov, will give keynote speeches at the opening session.
