Living proof to how art, music, culture and entertainment can bring about environmental awareness – Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment and Climate Change, Leo Brincat.
When he paid a visit to Earth Garden 2014, at the Ta’ Qali National Park, Minister Leo Brincat said that this festival is living proof to how art, music, culture and entertainment can bring about environmental awareness.
He added that he considers this festival to be the biggest Green Festival to ever grace our island.
Within this context, the Minister suggested that the festival should be called Our Environment, Your Well Being in the future.
Minister Brincat said that he is proud that such a festival is being co-sponsored form the Ministry of Environment and organised in a National Park that falls under the responsibility of his Ministry. He added that the Ministry of Environment wanted to send a clear message of support and encouragement for the hard working promoters of this festival, as well as for the Maltese, Gozitans and other visitors who consider this festival a very important part on their annual calendar.
Minister Brincat added that the enthusiasm and creativity of the organisers in favour of environmental awareness and quality of life, is reflected on the different activities organised during this festival as well as the different sites used. The Greek Theatre is being used for the Camping Area and the Open Village, from the Electronic Sphere to the Roots Stage and from the Ethnic Market, to the Holistic Area and the Smiley Funk Park, and the Enchanted Forest as the Chill Out Area.
