The Court of Magistrate heard how an Englishman who lives in St Paul’s Bay allegedly breached bail conditions after having a fight with a Maltese couple at Sofra Restaurant St.Paul’s Bay at 03:00h on Sunday morning.

Gary Anthony Wingfield, 32, who lives in Fgura was accused of assaulting Aldo Muscat and Carmelina Muscat and having damaged their car. He was also accused of slightly injuring Mr Muscat. Mr Wingfield who suffers from an alcohol problem is also being charged with threatening and assaulting Police Sergeant Patrick Cassar. He pleaded not guilty to disrupting public peace, breaching court orders and relapsing.

Magistrate Carol Peralta said that on Wednesday, February13, he want to hear the witnessing of an officer Dar l-Impenn which takes care of people with alcohol problems. He will then proceed to decide on the case.

Police Inspectors Jessica Grima and Joseph Busuttil prosecuted. Dr Patrick Valentino appeared for the accused.
