ESU Malta’s Public Speaking Academy 2013
25 students between the ages of 16 and 20 joined the ESU Malta team of tutors for the first ever national Public Speaking Academy.
The aim of the Academy was to encourage young people to believe in themselves, while working hard to acquire the skills needed to communicate their opinions and ideas to others when speaking in public.
Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malta Michael Frendo, CEO of Inspire Nathan Farrugia, Principal of St Martin’s School and Pro-Chancellor of University of Malta Bernie Mizzi and lecturer Marie Briguglio, addressed the plenary, inspiring the participants through their personal life stories while sharing tips on how to speak and present effectively.
Testimonials of the participants’ experience may be viewed at www.esumalta.org where applications to the Debating Academy, to be held between April 18 and 20 can be found.
The public is also invited to attend the Public Speaking Competition that will take place on April 5, the winner of which will fly to London to compete in the International Public Speaking Competition to be held in May.
