Ex Arriva driver admits withholding €10,000
Carl Grima admitted in court that when he was employed as a driver with Arriva, he kept around €10,000 to himself. These were from tickets issued to his passengers.
Police Inspector Jonathan Ferris said that 31 year old Grima kept the money because the company owed him €3,293 in salaries and loans which he did not receive because of a problem in his ETC registration.
Grima also admitted that he used the rest of the money to pay a loan for his car and for home improvements.
Arriva Finance department official Carmen Galea confirmed that Grima was owed money from the company, where she said that the company wanted back the difference which amounted to €6,688.
The accused declared that he will pay Arriva the sum within six months.
