The Housing Authority will be launching a new scheme in the coming weeks tailor-made for those who are looking to purchase their first property from a  private seller.

The scheme involves a subsidy of 2.5% on the bank loan for the purchase of the property. Beneficiaries can save up to €14,500 in bank interests through the scheme that is open for a year or until 300 persons apply.

The Minister for Justice, Public Consultation and the Family Chris Said, announcing the scheme, spoke proudly of a past Housing Authority programme, Darek Faċli, which received 883 applications for 123 residences and 98 garages.

Through these schemes, Dr Said said, the Housing Authority was in a position to help elevate the level of accommodation in Malta and improve the quality of life of all those who sought its help.
