Frozen cats found in Hal Far establishment
Three frozen cats were found in a Hal Far establishment as the police investigate the spate of cats that are being killed and sold to restaurants.
The inquiry was launched after a Facebook message started doing the rounds. The message said that a foreign couple in a white van were collecting cats, on the pretense of neutering them, when in fact they were killing them and selling them to restaurants as meat.
Yesterday evening, the mobile squad tracked the van down and found three cats in the freezer. They held a Chinese man who works in the establishment to help them with the investigation.
Inspector Fabian Fleri, Frank Sammut and Sergeant Gino Caruana are leading the investigation.
