George Abela congratulates Pope
President of Malta George Abela has sent a message to Pope Francis, congratulating him on his new post and wishing him a long and fruitful pontificate.
The news of his election as Leader of the Catholic Church was well received by the Maltese Catholic population, the letter read. George Abela also congratulated the Pope on his choice of name, adding that it evokes a sense of simplicity, compassion, tolerance and human solidarity.
