GonziPN’s plan for PBS foiled – PL
The Nationalist Party’s (PN) "hysterical" reaction to the Broadcasting Authority’s decision clearly demonstrates that it intended to use PBS’ current affairs programmes for its own political advantage, the Labour Party (PL) said today.
PL noted that it is a shame that GonziPN chose to attack the Broadcasting Authority and the Labour Party in such an aggressive manner to defend PBS’ administration and editor Natalino Fenech.
“PN’s statement finally explains why the party kept silent on the position taken by PBS, which affects all political parties. It is clear that GonziPN was quiet on the matter because its own interests were going to be advanced,” PL alleged.
The Opposition said that GonziPN is also trying to conceal the fact that PBS’ media is unfairly imbalanced against the Labour Party, “even though official figures presented in Parliament prove PL’s complaints to be founded”.
“This statement is further proof that GonziPN will unscrupulously use national broadcasting for its own political purposes thanks to those within the party’s clique who were conveniently made to work within PBS’ administration,” PL added.
“If anyone should be embarrassed by this issue, it is no other than GonziPN,” PL concluded.
