GWU issues directive to Foreign Affairs' officers
The Government and Public Entities Section of the General Workers Unions has ordered the officers at the Foreign Affairs Ministry not to use their office mobile phone and office laptop after normal business hours.
This directive was issued in view of the fact that these officers are being asked to take home the office equipment in order to receive and answer telephone calls and emails during their off-hours. These officers are being asked to work with this system on a weekly based roster.
The Government and Public Entities Section has raised the issue with the management in search of a solution to the issue, however its attempts remained unanswered. The GWU deems that what these officers are being asked to do is not humanly possible, and therefore it has instructed them to follow the directive until further notice.
