Jordan receives 3,000 refugees daily
3,000 Syrian refugees are crossing into Jordan daily, a UN official said.
50,000 people are currently waiting to cross the border and this is putting a strain on the country’s resources. Jordan has already threatened to close down its borders.
The UN refugee council (UNHCR) said on Wednesday that over 26,500 Syrian refugees had crossed the border since January 1, with over 10,500 arriving in the past five days.
The UN has said that there are a total of 670,000 Syrian refugees based in Jordan, Turkey, Lebanon, Iraq and Egypt, with more than 60,000 people dead
