Junior Chamber hosting European Conference in 2014
The newly elected national board of the Malta Junior Chamber (JCI) will be placing special emphasis on the importance and recognition of volunteering and self-development which are fundamental to both the individual and the community alike.
Speaking at the Chamber’s AGM newly elected National President Jonathan J. Borg, explained that the theme chosen for this year is “Be empowered: Volunteer”. The Junior Chamber will not only run the usual flagship projects, but will also be running sustainable projects to address the needs of the community on several levels, he said.
In 2012, JCI held several events including the Best Business Plan Competition, Pay Days, Think Speak Act project, Creative Young Entrepreneur Award, Lets Do It! Malta clean up, Social Networking and Fund Raising events. The organization will also be hosting the JCI European Conference in Malta in 2014.
The newly elected board sees Gordon Borg as National Deputy President and Vice-President International, Charlotte Gregory as Immediate Past President, Austin Cachia as President of Local Organisation Wignacourt responsible for the social matters portfolio, Stefan Balzan as President of Local Organisation La Vallette responsible for business matters portfolio, Annalisa Schembri as Communications and Growth Vice-president, co-opted posts named, Jonathan Falzon as Vice President for training, Shirley Vella as Secretary General also responsible for the CSR programme, and Dorothy K. Vella as Treasurer.
