Launch of Junior College Prospectus 2014

The Junior College prides itself that it can offer a personalised, high quality, holistic education that focuses on the needs and aspiration of individual students. It offers a unique learning experience, spread over two years, which bridges the gap between secondary and further education.

The Junior College was set up by Legal Notice 123 in 1995 and forms part of the University of Malta. It is governed by the Junior College Board and all staff members are appointed by the University Council.
Students at the College are taught by highly qualified, experienced and caring lecturers.  The facilities and services are of the highest level and students are offered a broad spectrum of extra- curricular activities aimed at complementing their academic growth.

Applicants may be admitted to the College if they are in possession of six passes at SEC level or equivalent. The subjects must include English language, Maltese, Mathematics and at least one of Physics, Chemistry or Biology and any other two subjects.

At the College, students study two subjects at Advanced level and three subjects at Intermediate level together with Systems of Knowledge. Students can choose any combination of subjects in accordance with the Matriculation Examination Regulations.

Students who would like to join the College as first years in October 2014, including those who are awaiting results, are to apply online by logging on www.jc.um.edu.mt/apply between Friday 1 August and Sunday 10 August 2014.
For the first time, students who have completed their first year at another institution may also apply to continue or repeat their second year at Junior College provided they fulfil the necessary conditions.

An orientation meeting for all prospective students will be held on 18th July 2014 as follows:
Surnames A - C  at 08.30 hours
Surnames D - M at 10.00 hours
Surnames N - Z  at 11.30 hours

The College is also offering a guidance service to help students in their choice of subjects.
