Michael Briguglio participated in the interdisciplinary conference "Theory, Action and Impact of Social Protest" held at the University of Kent, UK.

Briguglio presented a case study on Maltese environmental NGOs and EU accession taken from his PhD dissertation, which is in viva stage. The case study focused on the land rationalisation controversy in Malta, and is due to be published in the International Journal of Green Economics.

Key speakers in the international conference included Chris Rootes, professor of Environmental Politics and Political Sociology and editor-in-chief of the "Environmental Politics" journal.
