Malta integration network launched
The aditus foundation launched the project ‘Malta Integration Network’, a one-year-long project organising a series of thematic meetings on the integration of third country nationals in Malta. During today’s introductory meeting, aditus foundation Director and Project Leader Neil Falzon, presented the project’s aims and methodologies.
Through the Malta Integration Network, aditus foundation will facilitate various meetings of Multifunctional Teams, composed of representatives from the Maltese government, academia, civil society and migrant communities.
The Multifunctional Teams will be organised thematically to reflect various areas of specialisation and expertise, including anti-discrimination, long-term residence, labour mobility and access to nationality. Each meeting will evaluate current laws and policies with a view to improving the integration potential of Third Country Nationals.
"We cannot continue to ignore the immense integration efforts made by the various migrant groups living in Malta, some for several years. On the contrary, this project will capitalise on their contributions and experiences, to feed into the formulation of targeted and effective integration strategies and policies," Neil Falzon said
Individuals and organisations active in migrant integration are invited to express their interest in participating in the Malta Integration Network by visiting the project’s site (http://www.aditus.org.mt/aditus_foundation/MIN.html) or by getting in touch with the Project Researcher, Dr. Carla Camilleri (firstname.lastname@example.org).
