Maltese Delegation promotes maritime industry in Monaco
At the Monaco Yacht Show, the Malta Transport Authority is exhibiting a stand branded as Maritime Malta.
This stand seeks to showcase Maritime Malta as an international maritime service centre and will be providing the local maritime industry service providers and intermediaries with the ideal promotional platform.
The Maltese delegation is being led by the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Mr Joe Mizzi, Parliamentary Secretary for Competitiveness and Economic Growth Dr Edward Zammit Lewis responsible for Maritime Promotion and Transport Malta Executive Chairman, Mr James Piscopo. This is a clear evidence of the commitment of the Maltese Administration towards the yachting industry and its crew.
The Monaco Yacht Show is being held in Port Hercule, Monaco is considered the most prestigious pleasure boat show in the world with the exhibition of 500 major companies in the luxury yachting and a hundred super and megayachts afloat.
With a record attendance of 33,000 professional and private visitors at the 2012 edition, the MYS is the long-awaited superyachting meeting of the year for the prestigious brands, allowing them to meet the most important international clientele.
Today, Malta is widely considered as one of the leading jurisdictions for the registration of superyachts offering friendly and efficient services.
TM’s participation – now in its fourth year – is one of the initiatives taken by the Authority to consolidate its efforts to attract superyachts to the Malta register which now represents an important market share of more than 5% of the world’s superyacht fleet.
During the event the delegation is expected to participate in a number of networking events. These serve as a good opportunity for Malta to provide an overview of the services it can provide to the yachting industry. The Monaco Yacht Show is attended by key industry players and crew who have influence on the destinations visited by yachts.
