A 41 year old British male was yesterday found dead in his hotel room at the Bugibba Hotel, in Bugibba, sources told di-ve.com

At around 13:45h the management of the hotel informed the police that a person was found dead in the hotel. Sources told di-ve.com that based on the state of the corpse, the man had died around 12 hours prior to being found.

The person, who allegedly died of liver failure, was found on the floor in his room. Very few belongings were in the room apart from a large amount of beer cans. The body could not be found earlier as the man had left a ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door. Sources said that the man has been travelling to and from Malta for over two years, and had recently arrived on a last minute flight from the UK.

The police arrived on site and investigations are underway. An autopsy was scheduled to be carried out today
