Mdina Grand Prix 2013 hosts 62 cars so far
This year’s edition of the popular Mdina Grand Prix will be held between October 10 and 13, 2013 with 62 classic cars already registered for the event, including 10 which are foreign-owned.
The cars will be on display at the Concours d’Elegance in Cathedral Square and will also be taking part in the race round the Mdina’s bastions.
The fashion brand Massimo Dutti will be sponsoring the event.
Explaining the reason for Massimo Dutti’s sponsorship of this event, Andre Parnis, Financial Controller at Big Bon Group said: “the strength of the Massimo Dutti brand is the fact that it is a classic brand where style, fine tailoring and visual presence have been the main traits that have made this brand accessible and appealing to a wider audience. It is a brand that communicates class, timelessness and sophistication especially in the latest collections that have reached Massimo Dutti’s shop at The Point. These qualities are very similar to those of the Mdina Grand Prix, an event which is making these fine stylish and unique cars accessible to be enjoyed by a wide audience. Therefore, we felt that this would be an ideal opportunity for collaboration.”
The Mdina grand prix morning practice will take place on Saturday October 12, 2013 on a 2.2km track below the Mdina bastions. The circuit includes fast straights mixed with demanding corners. Participating vehicles will be timed in the afternoon qualifying session.
