The allegations made by Opposition leader Joseph Muscat and the Labour Party (PL) are completely unfounded, a counterstatement released by the Ministry for Health, the Elderly and Community Care said.

The Opposition is refusing to understand what the Public Service Commission (PSC), a constitutional authority, is saying, the ministry added.

There were no irregularities in the process of choosing consultants, and all those considered were sufficiently qualified, therefore the Opposition is alleging that the Ministry of Health is responsible for things that did not happen, it added.

The Ministry called for more seriousness from the Opposition’s end.
