Prime Minister’s envoy shuns €34,000 salary
A special envoy of the Prime Minister has refused a salary of €34,684 per year and has instead requested €100 a month to cover her expenses, according to information tabled in Parliament this evening.
Maria Camilleri, the Prime Minister’s special envoy to Arab countries, is also entitled to a Class A travel and subsistence allowance for work related purposes. Hospitality and transport costs while abroad are refunded.
Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said that Joseph Zammit Tabona is his special envoy for investment promotion while Alex Sceberras Trigona is also his special envoy. They each have remuneration of €34,684, use of mobile phone and home internet, subsistence and travel allowance and refund of hospitality costs.
