Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip have launched a rocket at the holy city of Jerusalem this afternoon.

This is the first time Jerusalem has been targeted from Gaza.

The missile landed just outside the city and no casualties were reported. An earlier missile targeted Tel Aviv.

Violence is mounting on the Gaza Strip, after Israel killed Hamas military leader Ahmed Jabari in an airstrike on Wednesday.

Since then, twenty Palestinians and three Israelis have been killed, including five children.
