Shipping businessmen interrogated by Police
Two prominent businessmen involved in the shipping industry have been interrogated by the Police over the cash-for-oil corruption scandal, di-ve.com is informed.
The interrogations concern the alleged case of corruption over commission paid for oil purchases made by Enemalta.
The two businessmen operate in different sectors of the shipping industry and their respective companies are renowned in Malta and abroad for the services offered.
The Police have also interrogated Frank Sammut who was named as the person who owns the company allegedly receiving commissions paid by oil suppliers who won Enemalta oil procurement tenders.
Businessman, Tancred Tabone, too was interrogated by the Police in connection with Frank Sammut's case but had to be recovered at Mater Dei Hospital during interrogation.
di-ve.com is informed that Mr Tabone was still under observation at Mater Dei until yesterday.
