St. Paul Choral Society tour of Austria
The St. Paul Choral Society (SPC), one of Malta’s leading polyphonic choirs toured three of the major cities in Austria in September.
The SPC’s tour of Austria began with a performance at the “Votivkirche” an 18th century neo-gothic Cathedral in Vienna on September 8. The following day, the Choir performed at the “Stephansdom” (St. Stephen’s) Cathedral – the most important religious building in Vienna which is also the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna.
Ambassador Azzopardi took part in the two events in Vienna which saw a large participation from the Maltese community. On September 12 the St. Paul Choral Society preformed in Salzburg an in Innsbruck on the following day.
The Embassy of Malta in Vienna helped raise funds for the Austrian tour of the St. Paul Choral Society, through the Honorary Consuls of Malta in Austria and sponsored the transportation of the Choir throughout their tour.
