A ballet soloist and another two people have been arrested by police in connection to the acid attack on the Bolshoi Ballet's artistic director.

This was announced by Russia's interior ministry.

Sergei Filin's was left with serious injuries to his eyes when a masked attacker threw sulphuric acid to his face in January.

Police said that dancer Pavel Dmitrichenko and another man were being suspected of carrying out the attack. They were held in police custody/

The third person who was arrested is said to be driver.
