Tonio Fenech against minimum wage increase – PL
The Labour Party (PL) is broadcasting an excerpt that the Nationalist Party released in March 2010 that features Minister Tonio Fenech speaking against an increase in the minimum wage.
PL claims that Tonio Fenech said that raising the minimum wage would cause problems and put jobs at risk because employers will not be able to withstand the increase. Tonio Fenech even compared the increase to an easy trap to fall into at the meeting at which these comments were made, one where Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi was also present, it said.
The Opposition added that this excerpt continues to expose the hypocrisy of GonziPN, which, although against the minimum wage increase, is instead leading “a campaign of lies” against PL leader Joseph Muscat.
