Big mouthed Partit Laburista (PL) leader Joseph Muscat had revealed the PL’s strategy to European Member of Parliament Simon Busuttil, about imminent attacks on a Nationalist Party (PN) candidate on the eve of the 2008 election, PN Secretary General Paul Borg Olivier has declared.

Speaking to the press, Dr Borg Olivier said that “once more the PL is finding it hard to stomach what is staring everyone in the face, after in a bid to please all, Joseph Muscat had blabbered about PL’s internal affairs yet when faced with such facts he points his fingers at others, actions typical of child behaviour.”

The PN’s Secretary General confirmed that after hinting on national television, on February 25, about allegations of corruption being drawn against a PN candidate, the facts are that Dr Muscat spoke to MEP Simon Busuttil and passed the details about what was to follow. These details, he said, were crucial in dissolving the element of surprise in Alfred Sant’s spearheaded allegations and with the PN being well prepared for the subsequent attacks and allegations of corruption.

School boy's attitude to simply waste time - PL's reaction

Nationalist Party Secretary Paul Borg Olivier seems to make an effort to waste people’s time by calling press meetings to insist on childish lies that have been already denied a number of times, a spokesman for the PL Leader Joseph Muscat has stated.

The PL explains how the attitude used by PBO can only be compared to that of a school boy and such approach does not augur well for local politics. “It seems that now even MEP Simon Busuttil has joined the band wagon of candidates like Beppe Fenech Adami, Tonio Fenech and Mario De Marco, all of who harbour ulterior ambitions”

Both the PL and its leader are not interested in these charades and are amazed how in time when the electorate is expecting solutions and realistic proposals in the face of the present economic situation, GonziPN is putting forward a Party and a Government both torn apart by comical declarations as those tabled by PBO.
