Updated: Simon Busuttil elected deputy PN leader

Simon Busuttil won the deputy PN leadership contest with 640 votes, 72.4% of the votes cast, which is above the two-thirds threshold needed for him to become Deputy leader.

Tonio Fenech received 241 votes.

Around 881 votes had been declared as valid with three votes being inadmissable.

888 PN delegates were eligible and 884 were confirmed to have voted. A total of 25 delegates did not collect their vote.

The two candidates were European Member of Parliament Simon Busuttil and Minister of Finance Tonio Fenech.

590 votes were needed for either candidate to be declared the winner and become the new Deputy Leader.
