Director of the GRTU Vince Farrugia has clarified that he never referred to workers as rodents, adding that the argument which occurred in the MCESD regards the genuine self-employed and the ‘bogus’ self-employed, who operate in a dishonest way through not declaring their true income, not paying VAT, licenses and other obligations.

The GRTU has for years fought against unjust competition as Malta cannot keep having people who obey the law and other who don’t. Vince Farrugia added that what certain people said they heard in court does not necessarily mean that it was what he said.
