The daughter of a woman murdered nearly three years ago has filed a judicial protest against Vodafone Malta requesting payment of damages after a former employee allegedly passed information about the whereabouts of her mother to the man accused with the murder.

Caricia Sammut, daughter of Christine Sammut who was shot dead in a van in December 2010, accused Vodafone and former employee Ryan Fenech of negligence and an alleged breach of Data Protection. The employee allegedly submitted information about her mother’s sms’s and location.

Kenneth Gafa stands accused with the murder of his former partner.

In December 2010, Vodafone had stated that a former employee had violated data protection compliance requirements but denied the former employee had passed on information which could help locate the victim.
