An Air Malta employee who defrauded the company out of ₤50,000 between 1992 and 1993 during his tenure at the airline's London office remains unnamed.

Finance Minister Tonio Fenech said that the identity of the employee could not be divulged for confidentiality reasons to a question by Labour MP, Evarist Bartolo, who asked about the fate of the employee.

The Minister said that the employee's contract had been terminated.

However, the Minister did not say whether any legal sanctions had been taken against the person in question.
