The Valletta Grand Prix Foundation has launched its calendar of events for this year’s edition of the acclaimed Mdina Grand Prix and drivers can register for participating in the event.

The week long programme starts on Monday October 7th with the arrival of foreign participants who will be entertained with cultural visits at Valletta, the Three Cities, and the Grand Harbour .

Friday October 11, will see the Mdina Glass Concours d’Elegance which follows last year’s glamorous event and will again be held at the Cathedral Square in Mdina. Malta’s best classic cars will be joined by the overseas participants together with live classical music and owners in period attire. 

The 2.2 kilometre track below the Mdina bastions will witness the morning practice session on Saturday 12. The exciting circuit includes fast straights and demanding corners. In the afternoon participating vehicles will be timed to determine their best performances and the winner of the event. 

With over 70 cars racing the main event will happen on Sunday 13. Each group of vehicles will have two runs in the morning and two in the afternoon with the possibility of demonstration runs by classic motorbikes and supercars.

The foundation has also declared that whilst the entries for this year’s Grand Prix are now open for interested drivers the number of entries will be limited to slightly less than the years before. Although the entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis, a further choice will take place selecting the more interesting candidates to make the event even more spectacular. The closing date for applications is the 31st of August.
