For the 22nd year running, Birkirkara FC Youth Nursery will be holding the annual Christmas Festival at the Infetti training grounds.  This time round, the two categories involved in this festival are open for children born in 2002 and 2003, that means for the Under-11 and Under-10 teams.

The event will get under way on Boxing Day, December 26 and will come to a close three days later on December 29.

In this year’s edition, the number of teams playing will be twelve where Birkirkara will be represented in both categories together with Pieta’ Hotspurs, St Andrew’s, Valletta and Hamrun Spartans, while Naxxar Lions and San Gwann will be represented by an Under-11 squad.  Thus there will be seven teams in the Under-11 and five teams in the Under-10 category respectively.

Teams will play each other in a Round Robin system, and will be playing on an 8-a-side basis.  Given the age of the two categories where competitive football goes against the governing body’s policies, no points will be given for wins and draws, while results will not be published.

All players and participating teams will be given a commemorative team photo as a token.

Matchdays will be shceduled as follows:
Wednesday 26 - First match at 09.00h, last match at 16.00h
Thursday 27 - First match at 10.00h, last match at 17.00h
Friday 28 - First match at 10.00h, last match at 15.00h
Saturday 29 - First match at 09.00h, last match at 17.00h.

All matches will kick off on the hour.  Every game will have two halves of twenty five minutes each, with a five minute break between the first and the second half.

This Festival will be played under the Youth and Grassroots Committee of the Malta Football Association regulations.
