Football Legend Diego Maradona describes Luis Suarez four month ban as “shameful”
FIFA have confirmed Luis Suarez will no longer play in the World Cup and he will not be allowed inside Uruguay's base or stay in the same team hotels as his teammates in Brazil. The striker has now left Brazil and arrived back in Uruguay.
He has been ruled out of Liverpool's opening nine Premier League and three Champions League games - and he will not even be able to train with the rest of the Liverpool squad during that time.
Maradona declared his unconditional support for the controversial Uruguayan on his television show 'De Zurda' on Thursday, wearing a T-shirt bearing the message "Luis, we are with you" and describing the FIFA sanction as “shameful” said Maradona, who himself was given a 15-month ban from football during the 1994 World Cup for testing positive for the banned stimulant ephedrine.
Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini believes Luis Suarez’s ban for biting him is 'excessive' and he hopes that at least the Suarez shall be allowed to stay close to his team mates during the World Cup Games.
