With the Surfski circuit finally getting a lucky break from the climate, Chris Camilleri survived a late challenge to win his fourth leg in the 'King of the Bay' series. Having battled with the elements in previous legs, the paddlers were able to focus more on the competition in progress.

Following the running beach start, a familiar leading pack formed to take the early lead, as Michael Aquilina led from Matthew Schembri and Simon Gauci. Schembri eventually got some separation from the group, and appeared on course for a strong showing. However, he was overtaken by Chris Camilleri at the first turn, and the two would keep their position until the end.

Camilleri was looking to defend his perfect record in the series, but Matthew Schembri was determined to push him. An interesting battle for third place developed, as Nicki Borg Costanzi eventually beat out a number of male competitors to finish as the first overall female and third overall.

After four rounds, Camilleri has built up a safe lead over the rest of the field, and is now competing to keep his perfect record. Michael Aquilina and Matthew Schembri have two rounds to battle it out for second place.
