Handball Association receives benefits from IHF
The Malta Handball Association has distributed handball equipment to all Maltese handball clubs after receiving benefits from the International Handball Federation.
This support, also known as the IHF Development Aid, has the aim of helping handball develop in countries by providing material to local clubs. This year, new handballs were distributed in order to help clubs reduce costs of buying extra handball material and help training.
MHA President Mr. Louis Borg said it is always important for local sports to benefit from such grants, especially from an international level point of view. “We are trying to increase the level of handball in Malta and this type of assistance will surely prove valuable to all clubs,” he said.
Moreover, the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee announced the 25 core sports for the 2020 Olympic Games to be proposed to the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires in September and, as for all Olympic Games since 1972, handball is part of the Olympic programme.
