Inspire's Jingle Bell Jog

Article By: news

Inspire’s Boxing Day Jingle Bell Jog has become a highly anticipated event, in which individuals make their way to Sliema seafront to walk, jog, cycle or run 5 kilometres in aid of Inspire’s disability programmes.

The Jingle Bell Jog, which took place earlier today, ensured that participants of all fitness levels be able to find their niche. Many of the participants were given Santa Hats, decked with bells, kindly donated by, making the atmosphere even more special.

“We were delighted to see over 200 people attend our event this morning” said Fundraising & Marketing Manager at Inspire Maria Vella-Galea,. “Perhaps the guilt feelings of having consumed so many calories yesterday, helped to increase the numbers but we are sure that those taking part had Inspire’s beneficiaries in mind”.

All those taking part were treated to hot coffee and mulled wine, compliments of the Preluna Hotel and Marks & Spencer respectively.

Inspire is a non-profit organisation that leads the way in providing therapeutic, education and leisure services to persons with disabilities in Malta and Gozo. Through close relations with parents, government and the business community we aim to reach out and assist those who are excluded; to give them choice and opportunity and to emphasize their human rights and equal access to independence, education, employment, leisure and an inclusive community.

“Inspire’s programmes cost around €3,000,000 per year, and our services are either completely free or heavily subsidized. We therefore depend on voluntary giving, volunteering and social enterprise to continue to provide support to those in need, in order to make a difference in the lives of the people we help” continued Fundraising and Marketing Manager Maria Vella-Galea.

Inspire is also the official Charity for the Malta Marathon, Half Marathon and Walkathon and invites runners/walkers who have not yet register to do so through Inspire – a % of the registration fee will be donated to Inspire. More information can be obtained by sending an email to
