After four weeks of the current MSV Life National League, defending champions okmalta.com remain on a 100% win record, after another full point victory against The Clan. There were also 8 – 0 victories for Bowlers On Strike and Turu’s Knights, against respective opponents J Grima & Co and Bank of Valletta, while Rogantino’s Restaurant pulled off the surprise win of the week, with their 6 – 2 result against Fina. Ramis also managed a six point win, with St. James Hospital on the losing end.

It’s four weeks in and a maximum 32 points for leaders and defending champions, okmalta.com, who secured yet another 100% victory against this week’s opponents, The Clan. The highflyers opened with an easy 666 – 767 game one win, before a much closer second game, which they just managed to clinch by a mere five pins (712 – 717) to go four ahead. Okmalta’s best was yet to come, as they delivered the final coup de grace with a huge 686 – 810 game three win, to round off the whitewash. Rankin Camilleri (okmalta.com), 623. Bjorn Tabone (The Clan), 536.

Bowlers on Strike move up into second place, eight points behid the top spot on 24 points after their 8 – 0 win over J Grima & Co in week four. It was never going to be a comfortable victory, as they won the scrappy opener 642 – 631, and then doubled their advantage with a 728 – 705 game two win. Bowlers on Strike carried a shaky 34 pin advantage into the nervy final game, and were relieved to clinch a 738 – 711 win to make sure of all eight. Nathan Brimmer (Bowlers on Strike), 511. Sammy Borg (J Grima & Co) 525.

Rogantino’s Restaurant stay third this week, but week four opponents Fina have slipped beneath them, after Rogantino’s walked away from the encounter with a 6 – 2 result in their favour. They won the close opening game 775 – 762 for the early lead, and then made it 4 – 0 with a better 791 – 704 win in game two, for a cumulative advantage of 100 pins. Fina rallied to win the last of the set, 838 – 881, but had to settle for a quarter share of the points and a drop to fourth place. Malcolm Pace (Rogantino’s Restaurant), 673, male bowler of the week. Mark Muscat (Fina), 652.

Ramis improve to fifth place on the strength of their 2 – 6 victory over St. James Hospital this week, the latter dropping down to seventh with the defeat. Ramis were the more consistent of the two line-ups, winning the first game 715 – 774, before St. James replied with a 790 – 754 game two equalizer. The tables were turned once again in game three, St. James dropping to a 702, against a 779 match winner from Ramis. Ray Falzon Reale (Ramis), 589. Helenio Grech (St. James Hospital), 581.

Turu’s Knights got their season back on track with a full point victory over bottom side Bank of Valletta, after two consecutive 8 – 0 drubbings in weeks two and three. They opened their scoring account with a strong 805 – 775 game one win, before going 4 – 0 a head with a contrastingly poor 714 – 647 game two win. A 744 – 707 result in game three sealed the 100% win, to edge the Knights up to sixth place. Ryan Grech (Turu’s Knights), 577. Tony Paris (Bank of Valletta), 535.
