Valentino Rossi made a brief switch back to last year’s Yamaha Factory Racing bike during the pre-season testing in Malaysia on Tuesday following an engine problem with his latest equipment.

The Italian rider concluded a rain soaked test in fifth position with teammate Jorge Lorenzo in second place.

The Doctor explained that he was quite happy with his pace even on the 2012 bike. Lorenzo had less to report, having also spent the majority of his day in the pit lane due to the weather.
